Entertaiment is anything that amuses or distracts us. It could be a clown at a birthday party, a Broadway show, or your friends fighting over the last potato chip. It also refers to the act of entertaining someone, such as a guest or a student. It comes from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which means “to hold inside.”
Entertaiment includes visual entertainment such as movies and TV shows; audio entertainment such as music and concerts; and other activities such as reading books, playing sports or games, and creating or appreciating visual art. Moreover, the concept of entertainment is highly subjective and can change depending on one’s mood.
